Mandel Bread Recipe

This is my grandma’s recipe for super yummy Jewish Biscotti. 


INGREDIENTS:

3 eggs.

1/2 cup oil (DO NOT USE Extra Virgin Olive Oil, use CANOLA OIL)

1 cup sugar.

3 cups flour.

2 teaspoons of baking POWDER (NOT SODA).

3 tablespoons of orange juice (WITHOUT PULP).

1 teaspoon vanilla. 

1/2 cup walnuts 

1/2 cup chocolate chips (MINI CHIPS ARE BEST)

I actually put in 1 whole cup of the nuts and chips just because its better! 

DIRECTIONS

Beat eggs and add the oil, mix well. Then add sugar, flour, baking powder, orange juice and vanilla (I usually add the flour one cup at a time (stirring and then adding a cup and so on) its just easier to do). After those are all mixed well, add the nuts and chocolate chips. Dough should be sticky and soft. Wet your hands and form between 2-3 loaves on separate cookie sheets (line them with parchment paper, this is also easier then trying to scrape up the finished product straight from the cookie sheets). Form the loaves into sort of football/oval shapes on the cookie sheets. Bake at 375° F for 30 minutes until the loaves are golden brown-ish (Can be just about, remember you’re going to be taking them out after and cooking again). Take the cookie sheets out of the oven and slice the loaves into long strips (if too long you can always cut each individual strip in half, whatever your preference is). Once this is done put them back in the oven to cook for another 10 minutes. Let them cool and enjoy! :)
